Bookbinding Workshop: Saturday, March 8

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Learn a new skill and walk away with unique gifts during the March Second Saturday Workshop, offered by the Clarksville/Montgomery County Arts & Heritage Development Council and the Downtown Artists Co-Op.

On Saturday, March 8, from 9:00am to noon, at the Downtown Artists Co-Op (96 Franklin Street), artist Peggy Bonnington will lead participants in a Bookbinding Workshop, constructing Japanese stab binding books.

Japanese stab bindings (also referred to as stitch bindings) are a good place to start in understanding the world of hand-made books, as they are fun and relatively easy to produce. They are great for journals, sketchbooks, scrapbooks and guest books, and they make unique gifts as well.

The cost of the Bookbinding Workshop is $35, plus a supplies fee of $10. Registration is available online via the below button or by contacting the Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council at artsandheritage@cdelightband.net or (931) 551-8870. (Online registrations carry a $2.00 convenience fee.) The registration deadline is March 6, and spaces are limited.
