We are pleased to announce our forthcoming alphabet-art book, ‘C’ is for Clarksville on the Cumberland.”
‘‘C’ is for Clarksville on the Cumberland highlights the history, culture, environment and geography which make up the city’s rich and unique heritage. Although the book has a target audience of children aged 4 through 10, anyone interested in Clarksville should find something worth noting in this limited-edition collectors’ book.
Featuring cover design by BLF Marketing partner Frank Lott and layout by graphic artists Mike Fink and Cindy Marsh, the book’s focal points are illustrations by 34 local artists, including Ludie Amos, Kim Balevre, Peggy Bonnington, Guy Bozard, Leslie Campbell, Melanie Dennis, Paula Baggett Edwards, Janet Felts, Leah Foote, Rob Franklin, Nada Fuqua, Bob Gandy, Lynne Waters Griffey, Jim Hancock, Brandt Hardin, Heather N. James, Beverly Jenkins, Sarah Lancia, Tamara Long, Frank Lott, Judy Morgan, Gail Meyer, Beverly Parker, Nathan Parker, Bob Privett, Billy Renkl, Kathy Robinson, Glenda Rohner, Rick Rois, Dianne Simpson, David Smith, Terry Smith, Randy Spurgeon, Linda Stolz, Cliff Whittaker and Shea Halliburton Wright.
Representing a variety of media — including watercolors, acrylics, drawings, photography, fabric art, tile mosaics, metal sculptures and wood carvings — letter categories include Aviation, Black Hawk Corn Sheller, Customs House, Dunbar Cave, East End, Forts, Governors (Austin Peay and Wylie Blount), Home Infirmary, Iron, Cave Johnson, Karst, L&N Railroad, Military, Newspapers, Old-Time Fiddlers’ Championships, Paddlewheelers, Queen City, Wilma Rudolph, Spires, Tobacco, University, Valentine Sevier, Robert Penn Warren, eXits 1-4-8-11, Yuchi Indian Culture and Zinc.
A book launch party will be held at 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 21, at the L&N Train Depot (10th and Commerce Streets). Original illustrations from the book will be available for purchase, and artists and authors will be on hand to sign copies of ‘C’ is for Clarksville on the Cumberland.
‘C’ is for Clarksville on the Cumberland books are $22.00 each (including tax), plus a $4.00 shipping and handling fee. Anticipated publication date is October 20, 2014, but copies are currently available for pre-order.
